Coming off a record-high 52 cases yesterday, LaSalle County added 25 new coronavirus cases to its count today. The county health department says the total number of cases is at 697. The people who tested positive range in age from their teens to their 90s. Nine of them are males in their twenties.

For the first time since Sunday, zero new deaths were announced. The recovery rate continued its drop, falling to 39.7 percent. 277 people have recovered from the virus. Illinois announced its highest single-day increase since May, announcing 2,084 new cases.

The state also reported 21 additional deaths. State totals are at 190,508 cases and 7,613 deaths. The state also announced they hit 46,000 tests in a single day. 1,486 people are currently hospitalized for the virus in Illinois. The test positivity rate climbed up to 4.1 percent.
