Illinois American Water customers will see late fees applied to their bill again soon. The August water use that customers get bills for in September will show them. This comes after the Illinois Commerce Commission allowed for the reinstatement of late fees in June. The company previously placed a restriction on shutting off water for consumers with late and non-payments last March. Consumers who are behind in payment are encouraged to call 800-422-2782.
