Fifteen year old Nolan Ruger was tall, liked football, went to Ottawa High School, and was about to start his sophomore year. A traffic crash claimed his life Sunday. His family and friends, about 50 people in all, remembered him Thursday night at a candlelight vigil in Wedron.

Nolan’s father, Eric Ruger, recalled his son’s interests which included camping and music.

Eric Ruger says his son was loyal to his friends. He says he doesn’t know what yet, but he wants to do something in his son’s name.

Eric was hurt in the traffic crash and was released from the hospital Thursday. He says he didn’t expect it, but he was glad to see so many people at the vigil. He thanked them for coming and said he and Nolan’s friends will always remember him.
