The City of Peru is continuing to study the possibility of a new swimming pool. The City Council received three potential options for a pool from a feasibility study done by the firm Counsilman-Hinsaker. The costs range between $4.7 million to $6 million.
The pool would be built at the northeast corner of Washington Park, close to the current splash pad. Counsilman-Hunsaker representative George Deines says the site would make a nice facility.
Mayor Scott Harl says the city will have to apply for a grant to pay for the pool. It’ll take too long to cover it with user fees.
