The plan at Ottawa High School is for students to return to school for at least part of the school day when school resumes. Supt. Mike Cushing talked about it on WCMY’s Morning Meeting Wednesday.

Class periods will be shorter to fit them all in during a shorter in-person school day. Teachers will be available for online teaching in the afternoon, so the district can provide the required 300 minutes of instruction time per day. Cushing says this is all subject to change as the rules for dealing with the pandemic change.

The plan for OHS to provide a laptop computer for each student could be snagged. Cushing says it’s possible that nearly half the laptops that have been ordered won’t arrive in time. That’s another thing the district has to take as it comes. Many of the students would need the laptops for remote learning.
