Three-and-a-half years after a popular Oglesby restaurant closed, new owners are reopening it today. Father and son team David and Jeremy Hillyer announced in February that they had bought Garzanelli’s Supper Club with plans to open it in April. Rules issued under the pandemic closed other restaurants though and the Hillyers were still looking for employees in May.
But after a soft, invitation-only opening over the weekend to get used to running things, Garzanelli’s is opening today with some limits because of the pandemic. Servers will wear masks and people will be seated at every other table. Garzanelli’s also isn’t doing carryout at first.
