Fifty-nine year old Kevin Comer was the man whose body was found in Somonauk Creek in Sheridan Thursday afternoon. The LaSalle County Coroner’s Office says Comer had recently moved to Sheridan after living west of Ottawa since his release from prison in 2018. A jury convicted him in 1996 of beating his wife, Sharon, to death the year before. He said she had died after an accidental fall at their home. The coroner’s office hasn’t said yet what Comer died of.
