Illinois Valley Community College has been offering free online courses since March. Director of Continuing Education and Business Services Jennifer Scheri says as of this week, 526 students have signed up for 795 courses. They cover subjects like creating web pages, communication, customer service, and marketing businesses online.
There are many more courses that can be taken for a fee. Scheri says it’s been good to help people improve their skills while they’re off work during the pandemic and need something to do. But the free enrollment ends at the end of this month, so those interested need to get in soon.
