The speakers at an anti-racism event in Ottawa Sunday night agree that marches aren’t enough. Pastor Robert Johnson is from Calvary Baptist Church. He wants to know what comes after the marches.

Johnson would like to see a get-together for everybody in Ottawa.

High School student Corinne Francis organized the event which kicked off a 24-hour vigil at Open Table United Church of Christ. She says the lives of people like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor had value.

The vigil continues until 7pm this evening (Monday, June 8). Meanwhile, Angel Patterson, who organized marches in Streator and Ottawa last week, is planning another rally at 3pm today at the downtown Ottawa LaSalle County courthouse.
