The Marseilles City council is asking for grant money for two sewer projects. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says one will reline the sanitary sewer line that runs along Bluff and Union Streets. The other will expand sewer and water lines out to Interstate-80. The city council had a public hearing on it last week.
The sanitary sewer line project is to prevent rain water from overwhelming the sewer system and flooding people’s basements. If the city gets the grant it will need to kick in $45,000.
