A lot of defendants whose cases have been delayed for the last couple months in LaSalle County will have to show up for their next court dates. Sheriff Tom Templeton says take your own mask, if you have one. It should be one that stays up on your face by itself.
And people’s temperatures will be checked at the door with a no-contact infrared thermometer. A high reading could trigger another court delay. Templeton says if a defendant’s temperature is more than 100.4°F, the security officers will take the person’s name and report him or her as having shown up but being medically qualified to get in. That way, missing court won’t be marked as a failure to appear.
Templeton talked about it on WCMY’s Morning Meeting program Wednesday.
