The Ottawa Grade School district is buying 1,000 iPad tablets. The board last week voted to spend nearly $400,000 on the new devices. Supt. Cleve Threadgill says it’s for the district’s one to one initiative and to prepare for future e-learning.

Threadgill says federal grant money is paying for the devices. In fact, the district has some leftover to buy more devices if need be. I.T. Director Kyle Olesen says ordering the iPads quickly is important because other school districts received the same grant money to buy tech for e-learning.
