Ottawa fire fighters put out a house fire in the 400 block of E. Main St. Sunday afternoon. The fire department says everyone got out of the house. No one was hurt. The fire was put out quickly with the house standing and looking little damaged from the outside. The cause is being investigated.
Streator fire fighters believe a garage fire in the 800 block of S. Otter Creek St. happened because of chemicals used to stain wood. The people who live there said they heard a boom early Sunday morning. When fire fighters arrived, they found some smoke coming from the garage and some damage to the garage door. The fire was out in less than five minutes.
