LaSalle County State’s Attorney Karen Donnelly isn’t recommending that business owners flout the governor’s orders to stay closed. But she is saying she won’t bother them if they do.
Donnelly said on WCMY’s Morning Meeting program Friday, a lot of people keep asking why some stores are open but others aren’t. For now, the state is deciding who’s essential and who’s not. That led to the Hobby Lobby store in Peru being closed Thursday, even though Walmart and some other stores are still selling craft items. Donnelly says that decision didn’t go through her office.
