People who are very interested in gardening and would like some credentials to show for it can consider taking the master gardening training through the University of Illinois Extension. Program Coordinator Meg Overocker says registration is going on through May 25 for an online class that starts June 15.
Each student can go at his or her own pace. Overocker says at four hours per week, it would take about 14 weeks. And then the student has two years to do 60 hours of community service in which he or she puts the knowledge to use.
The class costs $300. Overocker says nine people have signed up already as of Monday this week. To get in or ask for more information, you can contact Overocker via email: meo@illinois.edu.
