The Illinois Dept. of Public Health added 2,325 to its case count Saturday. The total so far is 76,085. The state’s tally includes 111 more deaths added Saturday with a total of 3,349 so far.
The virus has been reported in 98 of the state’s 102 counties. Putnam County is one of the counties without a case so far. The others are Edgar in east central Illinois, Edwards in the southeast part of the state, and Scott in west central Illinois.
This story was updated to reflect the death reported Saturday after the county health department’s earlier report of nine additional cases. LaSalle County Health Dept. Administrator Julie Kerestes says, “To hear of an additional death of one of our county residents is of great sadness to us.”
