The Ottawa Lions Club would have started advertising soon for its annual carnival in Ottawa. It was scheduled for Father’s Day weekend. Carnival Chairman Brian Baldwin says, as has become par for the course for anyone putting on big events this year, the club has cancelled it. The corona virus pandemic is to blame.

If the carnival can be held in 2020, it would likely be in late September or October. He says a rescheduled carnival in 2020 is very unlikely though. At this point, the carnival operator isn’t expecting to leave Florida if only a few events are possible in other parts of the country.

The carnival raises about $10,000 per year for the Ottawa Lions Club to provide eyeglasses and hearing aids to people who can’t afford them.
