St. Rep. Welter thinks the Illinois reopening boundaries were drawn wrong

St. Rep. David Welter says he’s furious about the way the reopening region lines were drawn. He doesn’t think Kendall and Grundy counties belong in the same region as Cook County, which has a higher population density and has had many more corona virus cases. On Facebook, the Morris Republican asks, “How is this even remotely reasonable?”

LaSalle, Livingston, and Dekalb counties are on the other side of that line in the same region as Rockford, the Quad Cities, Peoria, and Bloomington-Normal.

Dixon Republican St. Rep. Tom Demmer is asking what other people think of the governor’s announcement. Demmer had been calling for regional reopening, but yesterday he said he was still looking over the plan and would comment later.
