St. Rep. Demmer disagrees with reopening boundaries, wants lawmakers to meet

Illinois House Republicans say they appreciate changes Gov. Pritzker is making to the stay-at-home orders during the pandemic. But they think the regional boundaries he intends to use when deciding which parts of the state are ready for successive levels of reopening are arbitrary. Tom Demmer of Dixon rejects arguments that they’re ignoring science.

Demmer says the legislature needs to meet and have a say in the plan.

Pritzker has said it’s up to the House and Senate to decide when to meet.
