The Illinois Dept. of Public Health reported Saturday there is one corona virus case at the veterans home in LaSalle. The department says additional testing is underway there. The patient is a resident of the home. The announcement didn’t say anything about the patient’s condition or whether the patient is at the home or has been moved to a hospital.
The announcement came on the same day the IDPH announced 2,450 new cases including 105 additional deaths across Illinois. The state’s totals now are 58,505 cases so far including 2,559 that were fatal.
Also Saturday, the LaSalle County Health Department announced 12 new cases, bringing the county’s total to 67. Four more local recoveries were announced, bringing that total to 30. One person has died of the virus in LaSalle County.
