People in their 40s are getting more corona virus cases in LaSalle County than any other age group. And more men are being diagnosed with it than women.
The LaSalle County Health Department says of the 50 confirmed cases on Tuesday, 32 are men and 18 are women. Fourteen of the patients are in their 40s, putting that age group in the middle of the heap. The health department says that may be helping keep the hospitals from being overwhelmed. Older patients are more likely to need in-hospital care.
People in their teens have had the fewest cases, with just two. There have been three in their 80s, with one death.
Most of the patients from LaSalle County are not being treated in hospitals.
