Last week, LaSalle County Board Chairman Jim Olson estimated the ransomware problem that county government began having in late February is about 95% resolved.
An online computer security firm reported in early March, LaSalle County was being told to pay about $450,000 to get its data back. Olson says the county has not paid anything. County departments have been doing without their computers for various functions until the county’s own tech team gets them back online.
